Cover me up!

I am such a sucker for black dresses. It is a timeless piece that I can wear over and over again. So when it comes to changing it up a little, I look for a nice jacket, a statement piece or something to add a pop of color.

For instance, changing up your shoes, accessories or even a simple jacket or coat will do the trick. I literally wear this black dress so many times over but it is hardly noticeable.

I added this cute grey draped coat to change-up my look. Here in Japan, covering up is a sign of respect so as much as I want to show some skin, I respect the culture and cover up. This coat is long enough to cover the dress that I am wearing. This dress is above my knees which is considered short, but having a coat like this, it covers up just perfectly.

I love the style of this coat because you can roll the sleeves up or have the sleeves down. I don’t know what it is about me but I am always rolling up my sleeves, whether it is a long sleeve jacket, coat or blouse.

This coat can be worn as a casual look or even as a professional look. I am not working at the moment so most of my outfits are for date night or to hang out with some friends. You can wear this coat with a pencil skirt or slacks, with a nice blouse and you have created a more business casual look.
