An Endless Honeymoon
So many people ask me why I continue to say that I get to celebrate my honeymoon again and again and again…. We have, what I like to call, an endless honeymoon.
Everyone wants to know what I mean when I say that. Well, that is because my husband is gone so often because of his career. When he has to leave, he does not just leave for a weekend like most spouse’s do, he leaves for weeks or even months at a time.
Yes, I have to be honest, it really does suck but I always try to look at it in a positive way. There is nothing I can say or do to change the fact that he has to be gone, so I don’t look at it in a negative way, or waste my energy on something that I can not control.
The time away from each other allows us to miss each other so much more. We have enough time apart that we appreciate having each other more than normal. When he gets back from being away for so long, we have our honeymoon all over again.
For all of the married couples out there, how could we forget our honeymoon? It’s simple, we can’t! As a newly married couple, you both are inseparable, you both are connected like no other. You wish it didn’t have to end, you don’t want to fall asleep because you want to enjoy every second of this blissful love. Am I right?
For all of the unmarried couples, do you remember that feeling that you get when your first date is going great? or when you and that person become official? or that feeling you get when you found “the one”? Well…… that is, what I like to call it, “The Honeymoon”, or “honeymoon stages”.
I get to live that moment again and again…and I love it!
He usually takes at least a week off to spend quality time with me. We make plans either to go on vacation or have a stay-cation. Regardless what it is we decide to do, it is one on one time for just the two of us. We do not let anything come in between our time together, not even our phones!
When he is away, I tend to shop a bit more than usual… for him, that is. Everything that I see that I know he would want, I end up getting. I don’t even have the control to save these items for Christmas or his birthday. It ends up being Christmas all year long for us.
