I have always had an issue with finding the right pair of flats. I was like everyone else who believed that anything other than heels would be comfortable. I was wrong….
A few months ago I wrote a blog post about comfy flats. I mentioned that the only flats that I found that were comfortable were my Claire Flats from Payless Shoes Store. Believe it or not, I went from spending $200+ on high end designer flats to spending only $30. Yes I admit, I did buy them because of the brand, but I have learned my lesson.
We all think that because it is a high end designer brand, that it would be comfortable. That isn’t always the case. Although the quality is impeccable, don’t expect the comfort to be that way too.
The Tory Burch Jolie Ballet Flats ($295); the Michael Kors Fulton Flats ($99) and the Christian Louboutin flats ($575), just to name a few, are some of the flats I have owned in the past. To add insult to my own injury… I bought them in different colors. Wrong move!
Needless to say, I have gone from buying shoes because of “the name” on it, to now being smart and purchasing them based on style and of course comfort.
I got these flats from Wanted Shoes and these cute little number is called the Tulip. I was confused on which one to get because they have so many different styles. I chose to go with the Tulip.
I was not sure what to expect because online shopping is always difficult. Yes, I agree online shopping is very convenient because you 1) do not have to fight for parking, 2) you do not have to get dressed up, 3) you do not have to stand in line, 4) you can take a break from shopping by grabbing a snack in the comfort of your own home, 5) you do not have to worry about using a public restroom when you have to go (I cannot stand using public restrooms ha ha). But, on the down side, when it comes to online shopping, you do not get to feel or touch the product, you can’t try it on so now you have to hope that it will fit, you have to hope that your parcel does not get lost in transit, you have to wait for it verses having it right there and then.
I guess it really comes down to how you feel that day. Do you feel like getting out of the house to do some shopping? or be like me, be lazy and take the chance of online shopping?
With that said, I decided to take the chance with these super cute flats from Wanted Shoes. I was very surprised when it came in. The box must have been delivered at the end of the day because I woke up to find the box sitting in my living room. Of course, I made my coffee first then opened it up.
I was so excited with them that I decided to wear them to work that same day. The style was just as I saw it online, the fit was true to size, but I would recommend ordering a half size down. They ended up stretching out towards the end of the day which made it a bit loose fitting, the quality is great but the icing on the cake for me was………. wait for it…. THE MEMORY FOAM!!! Yes, I said memory foam. My feet were floating on clouds. I love shoes that have memory foam because it makes it easier to wear all day.
The reason why I am a fan of the Payless Claire ballet flats are because of the comfort. They also have a two layer memory foam built inside. Now I am happy to say that I have a new favorite, the Tulip.
This style is very different from my Claire flats because the Tulip has a laser cut pattern with scalloped edges. It comes in eight different colors. I chose to go with the black because let’s face it, black goes with everything and 80% of my closet is black. Plus, I knew that I would be wearing it everyday to work.
I am an Administrative Assistant so my everyday uniform consists of black slacks, pencil skirts, dresses, a cute blouse, blazers, you name it… Basically the professional look. I am always in heels but I have my flats in my bag to change into. There are some days that I will dress in a more business casual look and that is when I wear my flats.
Like I mentioned earlier, I wore my Tulip flats to work that day and had them on for 10 hours. They were so comfortable, I could not believe it. I was waiting for a blister to pop up or my skin to be irritated because we all know how it is when you first get a new pair of shoes… you have to break them in before it starts hitting your comfort level.
Well….. nothing! Yes, NOTHING! No blisters, no rash, no irritation. I can not wait to get these in every color. Did I mention they are light weight? Oh yes, it is so light that there were moments that I thought I was bare footed.
These Tulip are a must have in my book. I am so happy with them. Head over to Wanted Shoes to find the perfect pair for you. Disclaimer: This blog post is sponsored by Wanted Shoes.
