Black has always been my go-to color, so when it was time for me to choose a dress for a lunch event for my husband’s job, I had to choose this particular Black Crochet Sleeve Dress.
It is not form fitted which was perfect for the type of event we were going to. As a wife, I try always to look my best but dress appropriately. I am a representation of my husband, so I always carry myself with class and dress classy.
The crochet sleeves on this dress added a unique style that I knew would make this dress stand out. I added a thin braided belt to help show a little bit of my figure because having it flow made me look like I was pregnant and that is not a good look.
I have always been a fan of wearing black because to me, it is such a chic and classic color. Black can be a color that you can wear all year long and wear it anywhere. I have a lot of black outfits because it used to be the only color I could wear for work.
I used to be a bartender at a classy restaurant, and the owner thought it was a classier look for all of us to be in all black attire. I did not complain because I had already had many black outfits in my closet. Not to mention, I always tend to buy black before any other color or print.
After I left the restaurant field, I went back into the medical/business world. My new boss told me that they would prefer a business casual look and to keep the colors to a minimum. I got lucky when it came to my work outfits because I already had enough clothes from my previous job, especially in the color black.
When it comes to wearing a solid color, it is easier to choose what shoes and accessories you want to wear with it, because everything matches with black. I chose to use my all black dressy Nine West wedges because I knew that there was going to be much standing and I wanted to be comfortable. I added my pink and black clutch to add a touch of color to my outfit.
When you decide to wear all black, it is always fun to add a pop of color, whether it is a bright bold color or a soft color like I did, you can never go wrong. Have some fun by adding prints too!
There are so many different ways you can change a look on a black dress. That is why I am a fan of wearing black. For your convenience, I have also added different choices of black dresses and wedges for you to choose from below.
